App: PricePeek
Package: com.turceni.minimalpricesearch
Developer: Anghel Vasile
Last updated: October 19, 2026

In brief

PricePeek searches for products, checks selected search results and online stores for prices, and displays the results on your device. Search terms are sent to Google and, in supported regions, may also be sent to selected stores to retrieve search results. The app processes results on your device and does not send them to a server operated by the developer. The current app implementation does not include accounts, advertising, or analytics.

Information the app uses

Searches and suggestions. When you search, PricePeek sends your product query to Google Search. It may add the word "price" (or "pret" for Romanian searches) if the query does not already refer to price. While you type, the app can send the text in the search field to Google's autocomplete service to request suggestions. The search region and language parameters are based on your device's locale settings; PricePeek does not request precise location.

Search results and prices. PricePeek reads links and descriptions from search results, then requests pages from selected online stores to find product information, prices, availability, and currency. In supported regions, it may also request results from selected stores' own search pages. These requests are made directly from your device to Google or the relevant store. Those services may receive your IP address, request details, and standard connection information, such as the app's browser identification string. PricePeek extracts and compares the information on your device; prices may be estimates and may not reflect shipping, discounts, or all product variants.

Recent searches. The app saves up to eight submitted search terms on your device to show them as recent searches. You can remove individual entries in the app. Search history is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer by the app's backup rules. Search results are temporarily cached in memory and are not persisted across process death.

Web browsing data. When you open a result, it loads in an Android WebView inside PricePeek. Google and store pages may use cookies, local storage, or similar browser technologies according to their own practices. WebView data is stored on your device and excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. If you choose to open a page in your external browser, that browser's settings and privacy policy apply.

Voice search. If you choose voice search, Android opens the speech recognition service available on your device. That service may process audio or recognized text under its own settings and privacy policy. PricePeek receives the recognized search text to perform your search and does not operate the speech-recognition service.

How information is used and shared

PricePeek uses search terms to find relevant product pages, extract price information, and display results. Searches, autocomplete requests, and page requests go directly from your device to Google or the relevant online stores; they are not routed through a developer-run PricePeek server. Google and each store handle requests under their own terms and privacy policies. The app does not control their collection, use, or retention of information.

The current application code does not include third-party advertising or analytics services. This statement should be reviewed if services or libraries are added in a future version.

Permissions and your choices

PricePeek requests Internet access to search and retrieve online pages. It does not request Android location, contacts, or SMS permissions. You can edit or remove recent searches in the app. You can also manage PricePeek's app data and permissions in Android settings. Disabling network access will prevent searches and price checks from working.

Retention and security

Recent searches remain on your device until you remove them, clear PricePeek's app data, or uninstall the app. WebView data may remain on your device until it is cleared with the app's data or the app is uninstalled. Search results are held temporarily in memory. Information already sent to Google, stores, or a speech-recognition provider is subject to that service's retention practices. We recommend using your device's available security features. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children's privacy

PricePeek is a general-purpose shopping utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not provide developer-operated accounts or servers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features or practices change. An updated policy will show a revised date and should be made available wherever the app is distributed.
